, Position Title: Marketing and Communications Manager Department: Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE) Overview: The Marketing and Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing the visibility and reputation of FABE at the university, as well as on local, state, national, and international levels. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that support FABEs extension, teaching, and research missions. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Marketing: Develop and manage marketing strategies to promote FABEs extension, teaching, and research initiatives. Communications Strategy: Create and implement a comprehensive communications and media relations strategy to elevate FABEs brand. Brand Development: Establish and maintain a strong departmental brand and communication plan. Leadership Updates: Regularly inform FABE leadership on strategic communications and marketing initiatives. Faculty Collaboration: Work with faculty to develop and implement promotional strategies for their integrated extension, teaching, and research portfolios. Event Promotion: Plan and promote FABE outreach activities, including annual banquets, seminars, conferences, and extension programs. Committee Participation: Actively participate in the FABE Communications and Marketing Committee. Content Management: Serve as managing editor for FABE publications, newsletters, recruiting materials, web content, media presence, and other promotional endeavors. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with current, future, and former students, college and university audiences, internal and external media, and outside stakeholders. Annual Reporting: Assist FABE leadership with annual reporting related to marketing and communication of FABE’s program impacts. Innovation: Stay current with new developments in media and communications methods and technologies, and apply them as appropriate. Qualifications: Proven experience in marketing and communications, preferably in an academic or research environment. Strong strategic thinking and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including faculty, staff, and external stakeholders. Proficiency in digital marketing, social media, and content management systems. This job profile is a Marketing and Communications Specialist 1 (S1 level) position on the career roadmap. The salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
